Envy, jealousy, disdain and nostalgy. This is the point of view to the neighbor country China from Japanese.

ちょっとしたことで、こじれたり、くっついたり。日本人の目からはもっとも近しい国、韓国はこう見えているんじゃないだろうか。
Sometime fight,Sometime hug like a brother. This is the point of view to South Korea from Japanese.
The portrait of Africa / アフリカの肖像
砂漠、湖、平原、海辺、乾燥地帯、渓谷。それぞれの場所で、人間は生きている。
Desert, lakes, savanna, seaside,dry land and valley.People lives on their own place.

この作品では、精霊など自然崇拝（アニミズム）に結びつくものを写真を用いて視覚化しようと試みている。
絵画や彫刻にとどまらず、言葉、踊りなどあらゆる表現手段は宗教と深く結びつき、それを支えてきた。
教会、モスク、神社仏閣には写真禁止の表示が多く見られる。写真は宗教にとってそれを否定する手段と考えられているのではないか。
その事に疑問を抱いたことがこの作品を作った端緒である。
宗教絵画の光の作用を引用することで、写真という170年ほどの歴史しかないメディアによってもっとも原始的な信仰を表現できるのではないか。
そして日本には現代においても神道という形で八百万の神への信仰が根付いている。
「これは現在で最も先進的だとされる日本に原始的な信仰が生きている、という点で興味深い」と日本人である私は思う。
特に樹木は重要な位置を占めている。キリスト、アッラー、ブッダ以前の自然崇拝の念を想起させるように、世界の様々な地域で樹木を撮影している。
In this work , I try to visualize some kind of the fairy or the spirit or the god in the photography which is coming from the animism.
The paintings, the sculptures, the dancing the literature support the religion in the history.
We can find the sign “No photograph” in the church,the mosque and the temple.
People think that the photography is the opposite position media to the religion.
This is the reason why I start this project.
I found that light effects of religious paintings in middle century are the effective technique to show the animism on the photograph.
The animism is the primitive religion.I try to show it on the photograph as the 170 years old new media.
Even now, people believe in the fairies or the gods in the nature in Japan.It is the Japanese original religion called “Shinto”.
Especially the trees have special meanings in the Japanese Shinto shrine.
I have visited many countries.Before Jesus,Allah and Buddha people believe the animism worldwide.

日頃、私たちの多くは切り分けられ、ビニールで包装された肉をスーパーマーケットで目にする。
かつてそれが意思を持った動物の死体であるということと完全に切り離されている。
食べること、生きることは死ぬことと表裏一体である。これを実感するためにこのプロジェクトを始めた。
この作品では、食用の動物を殺したあと、宗教絵画の光を引用しながら生きているかのように見せている。
そしてこの光は動物の死を暗示することにも効果的だ。
鑑賞者は間違いなく、写真というメディアによって動物の「死」を目にしている。
絵画では死体を目撃することはできないし、映像では生きているという想像を欠いてしまう。
この動物が死んでいると気づいた瞬間に鑑賞者にどのような感情をあたえるのか。
そして食用だと、その死の意味を理解したとき、心がどう動くのか。文化的背景が違えば、どのように視点が切り替わるのか。
これらの動物はプロの手を借りながら私自身が屠畜・解体を行ったり、その現場に立ち会ったりしている。それは食文化への深い理解へとつながっていると確信している。
この作品の制作は、文化的・法律的配慮を行いながら、日本、韓国、フランス、ベルギー、スペイン、ジョージア（グルジア）、アルメニアにて制作いたしました。
「Gibier」(ジビエ)はフランス語で、狩猟によって獲得した野生の肉という意味。この作品ではこれを拡大解釈して食用の肉としています。
When We find the packaged meats in supermarkets,We lose imaginations that this meats were animals.
The death of the animals support our life. I start this project to understand it.
In this work , I photographed the dead animals to eat which looks alive in light effects of religious paintings in middle century.
Also this light connotes death.
Surely the viewers are watching the death in this photograph.
Paintings can not show the real dead body.Videos can kill the imaginations still alive.
When they find the animals is dead,How do they feel? look delicious or feel sickness in the stomach?
Their cultural background gives different feelings to the viewers.
Most of them I killed it by myself with the help of professionals to understand the feeling to animals and to respect local culture to eating.
I had this project under the legal consideration and the cultural agreement in Japan,South Korea,France,Belgium,Spain,Georgia,Armenia.
Gibier is the French word which means wild meats from the hunting.

生き物を「殺す」ということは、自分の生命をつなぐだけのために許された行為なのだと思っていた。
しかしハンティングをする人たちは、心から動物を愛していた。動物の賢さ、恐ろしさ、気高さに勝負を挑む。そして勝ちえたものが剥製となる。
動物を「かわいい」と形容し、この行為を「残虐」ととらえるのは、いささか短絡的ではないのだろうか。
剥製は英語で、Hunting Trophy(ハンティング・トロフィー)。
When I see this hunting trophy at first time,I feel sickness in the stomach.It must be dead body,I thought.
As I understand the hunting culture in France,I try to show the feeling of hunters who loves animals.

日本人が「中国」と言葉にするとき、場面によって違う感情が込められているのではないか。
このシリーズでは日本人が隣国だからこそ持つ中国への複雑で多様な気持ちを視覚化することを試みている。
上海万博が開催される2010年に中国の国内総生産（GDP）が日本のそれを上回り、世界第2位へと躍進した。
経済大国たる誇りを持つ日本人が追い抜かれたこの瞬間こそ、日本人の中国への感情が最大化する時期だったに違いない。
この作品によって、時に感情的になる両国の関係性を客観することになればいいと思っている。
隣国には、当事者にしか見えない視点が存在することがとても興味深い。
もちろん万博が開幕した瞬間の上海の街のドキュメンタリーでもある。
When we Japanese said "China is",we have many meanings to China.
I try to visualize the point of view to the neighbor country China.
In 2010 China had Shanghai World Exposition and replaced the second largest ecomomic country from Japan on GDP.
The mega festival casts spot light on the city that symbolizes China’s recent remarkable progress.
This is the time to Japanese people may have complicated, various feelings to the symbolic scene which the people are in role at the streets as a theater in Shanghai.
The neighboring countries have characteristic points of view to each other.
This work shows an objective point of view on both countries relationship that sometimes get emotional.

韓国の街を歩くとき、はたしてここは異国なのだろうかと感じることがある。
韓国人の友人と話すとき、文化的背景を説明することなく会話が自然にすすんでいく。
領土問題や歴史認識がこじれるとき、そこには冷静な感情が働いていない。まるで身内同士の喧嘩のようにみえる。
この作品は、日本人の目によってもっとも近しい国「韓国」を視覚化する試みだ。
中国からの文化を母とし、アメリカの資本主義を父とする日本と韓国はもっとも近しい国だといえるのではなかろうか。
この作品によって、時に感情的になる両国の関係性を客観することになればいいと思っている。
隣国には、当事者にしか見えない視点が存在する。
When we Japanese said "South Korea is",we have many meanings to South Korea.
I try to visualize the point of view to the neighbor country South Korea.
Japan and South Korea which share basic of thinking based on Chinese culture and American capitalism are the most close coutnries.
This two coutries have a different opinion about the history and the territory.Sometime we contend emotionally like brothers.
This work shows an objective point of view on both countries relationship that sometimes get emotional.
The neighboring countries have characteristic points of view to each other.

モロッコのベルベル人のスカーフはサハラ砂漠の日差しや砂嵐から身を守り、ナミビアのヒンバ族は赤い石粉を混ぜたバターで乾燥から肌を保護し、マダガスカルの海風は帆船を動かし、マラウィ湖の淡水は漁場ともなれば炊事場や風呂場ともなり、エチオピアのグレートリフトバレーは地形ごとに民族を分け、タンザニアのマサイ族は大地を踏み鳴らし踊った。
自らの足で土地を踏みしめ、電気・都市ガス・水道のみならず貨幣に依存せずとも生活が成り立つ。資本の広がりが世界の価値観を画一化してしまう前に、土地に根付いた人たちの織り成す姿に思いを馳せたいのです。
写真というメディアの証言性によって何かを見せる「窓」というより、見る側の想像力に委ねられるような「鏡」としてポートレートを核として作品を構成している。
アフリカの多彩な人びとに、自らの姿を重ねることはできないだろうか。
Berber people in Morocco has a traditional headkerchief which protects hard sunshine and dust sand in Sahara desert.Himba people in Namibia protect their skin drying out by the butter mixed with red stone powder.The fishermen in Madagascar control boats in sea breeze.People in small island on Lake Malawi get food,drinking water and everything from the lake.Great rift valley in Ethiopia shows different lifestyles on each ethnic people.Massai people in Tanzania dance on savanna.
African poeple are living on ground and keeping their own culture from nature.Otherwise people in developed country has been standardized their cloth,food,house based on the capitalism.Before the capitalism change the afirican oridinal culture.We can study many things from the African life.
