Tomofumi Nakano｜Biography

中野智文

1978年　兵庫県生まれ
2002年　近畿大学法学部卒業

新聞社での編集者を経て、EPA通信社（European Pressphoto Agency）でプレス・フォトグラファー。同社を通じ、米ニューヨーク・タイムズ紙、英ガーディアン紙など世界各国の新聞、ニュースメディアに掲載された。

現在はマスメディアで培った社会批評的な視点をもとにコンテンポラリーアート作品を制作している。
特に日本独自の宗教・文化・視点を解釈した作品に力を入れている。
江戸時代の画家・伊藤若冲(1716-1800)の裏庭のニワトリに美を見出す視点や映画監督・宮崎駿(1941-)の自然崇拝を視覚化した視点に影響を受けている。
また、日本人の持つ中国や韓国への独特な感情を、シニカルかつ愛情深くユーモアをもって描いている。

1978 Born in Hyogo,Japan
2002 Graduated from Kinki University B.L Major Laws,Osaka

Tomofumi Nakano,he started his career as a journalist in a Japanese newspaper. After working as the newspaper editor,He moved to the European Pressphoto Agency(epa) as a photojournalist.His works have appeared regularly in The New York Times, The Guardian, The International Herald Tribune, and other major media worldwide.

Now,He has art projects based on journalist’s critic eyes.
He focuses Japanese original religion that called “Shinto” cames from animism before Buddhism.
Shinto has 8 million gods.It means everything has god inside.
Especially trees and animals are important for this religion.
Then he started his project “Gibier”and “Animism”.
Jackchu Ito (1716-1800)the Japanese painter always drew the fowles in a backyard.His works had been dedicated to the temple or the shrine.
Hayao Miyazaki (1941-)the Japanese animation film director shows ancient god in animals and trees on his film “Princess Mononoke” and“Spirited Away” .
Until now,in Japan people belives in god in the nature.Jackchu and Hayao inherit the Japanese ancient myth.Tomofumi Nakano gives the images to myth in photograph before Jesus,Allah and Buddha worldwide.
